Nearing the finish line!
And nearing completion of the Variant Cover to Thrilling Tales of VISTAS UNKNOWN#1
Hi Folks,
The final 48 hour countdown for the Thrilling Tales of VISTAS UNKNOWN #1 Kickstarter campaign starts later this afternoon, and I'm excited to see how the campaign closes out. It has gone better than I could have hoped so far, and I’m eager to get the book and extras to the printer so I can get them in my hands!
I don't have a lot to talk about today. I took the weekend off and got out of town to a cottage, and after dealing with some house tasks yesterday we cut the day short and went for a paddle in the kayaks before dinner. It's been such a manic spring with garden construction occupying all of our time that it was the first time we managed to get the boats on the car and out to the river.
But... before taking off for the weekend I got a small amount of work on colouring the Variant cover done.
Here is a side by side of the last two times I thought to record a progress picture, the older one on the left and as it is at the moment on the right.
It is still NOT DONE, but it's getting closer.
The only things that need doing are finalizing the base colours of the characters clothes and doing small bit of highlights and shadows, and the little patch of flat colour in the bottom left around the dinosaur needs some depth into the rocks and sand and some foliage colour.
There's probably no more than an hour of actual work left to do, but I'll probably stare at it for several more hours trying to decide if I like it or not and whether I should completely change the colour of the clothing!
Hopefully I'll have a final version to show before the campaign finishes on Thursday and I return to more sporadic newsletters!
Thanks again for reading!
Cheers,
Craig
